So, as many of you may have heard, our current Layton, Kirin, has resigned from her position as Hershel Layton. In addition, our Luke Triton (Kimchii) has also told us of her resignation. We are very sad to see the two of them go, and give them our warmest thanks for the time they spent with us and the hard work and dedication they put into the RP.

This means, of course, that the positions are now open for anyone who would like them. However, there is one small catch. As the good Professor and his assistant are very popular characters, we don’t think it would be quite fair to simply let in the first people who see our post. So as a solution, the mods have created a very easy application for you to fill out. Please send them in the ask box. Applications will be open for one week, after which we (Soy, Mamkut, and Sami) will sort through the applications and choose the ones we feel show the best grasp on the characters. If you feel that there is any bias after the decision is made, please feel free to drop a message in our box. Similarly, if you have any questions about the application, please drop us a message and we will respond as quickly as possible.

Hello everybody!

We, your mods, have recently been discussing how large the RP has gotten lately. Not that this is a bad thing—on the contrary, it’s great! However, with more people, it becomes somewhat more difficult to keep everyone involved and stop some more minor characters from slipping through the cracks in terms of inclusion. This is always something of a problem in every RP, but tumblr in particular doesn’t particularly lend itself well to very efficient communication.

One thing we noticed there could be more of is OOC communication. OOC communication is a great thing for a number of reasons: it’s always fun to make new friends and get to know your fellow players, knowing these people allows you to brainstorm ideas for plots and activities, and all sorts of things. This is why we have come up with the idea of having an IRC. For those unfamiliar, and IRC is something like an online chat room. It’s pretty basic, so it’s easy to use.

Instructions

Follow this link. Input your desired nickname into the “Nickname” box, and replace “#darkmyst” in the “channel” box with “#PLTumblr.” This will get you into the chatroom!

Some useful tips for IRC

Type “/nick [new nickname]” to change your nickname. For example, if I wanted to change my nickname to “BASEBALLLL” then I would type “/nick BASEBALLLL”

Type “/TOPIC [new topic]” to change the topic. For example, to change the topic to “menstruating toenails and shoe-polish,” I would type “/TOPIC menstruating toenails and shoe-polish”

Type “/me [action]” to make it a post like you’ve done an action. For example, if my nickname was Layton and I typed “/me throws Luke in a chemical fire”, it would come out as “Layton throws Luke in a chemical fire.”
